Giving Back

We’re Working to make Baxter Bulletin Media Group great!

The Baxter Bulletin Media Group doesn't just cover our community; we're a part of it. That's why we believe the role of the Baxter Bulletin involves more than reporting the news. Our commitment is to improve areas where we live and work. Each year the Baxter Bulletin works with dozens of local organizations to support fundraising efforts aimed at making Baxter County a better place to live and work.

Baxter Bulletin employees provide hours of volunteer time serving on local boards, committees, service organizations and community projects. They also donate time and money to assist needy families and nonprofit organizations through three main channels:

Gannett Foundation: A philanthropic foundation sponsored by Gannett, the Gannett Foundation supports nonprofit activities in Baxter County and other communities in which Gannett does business. Since 1977, the Gannett Foundation has made more than $2.7 million in local grants. In addition, the Foundation matches employee donations to nonprofits.

Make A Difference Day: Millions of people and many businesses come together on the fourth Saturday in October to participate in Make A Difference Day. It is the largest national day of helping others and is sponsored by Gannett’s USA WEEKEND and its carrier newspapers, including the Baxter Bulletin. Each year, dozens of Baxter Bulletin and local Gannett employees and their family members volunteer on a common initiative to help our neighbors in need.

Christmas Wish: 27 years ago the Baxter Bulletin created Christmas Wish.  With the help of community volunteers, our mission is “to provide a merry Christmas for children within The Bulletin readership area by providing toys, clothing and other items.”
